LOCATION

Q:  Where are you located?

A:  1299 S. Victoria Avenue, Oxnard CA 93035.  Seabridge Marina C Dock.

 

Q:  How do I get there?

A: Follow this link on google maps.  Directions: Corner of Wooley Rd and Victoria Ave, Oxnard in the Vons Shopping Center. Go to The Public Fountain by The Coffee Bean and Fishermen’s Catch. Walk towards the marina, you can either go down the stairs of the amphitheater or down the ramp. Both these will lead to the gate of “C” Dock. A representative of Channel Islands Marine Safari Adventures will meet you at the gate and walk you to the boat. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.

 

 Q:  Where do I park?

A: Suggested parking in the VONS public parking lot, nearest to Coffee Bean and Fishermen’s Catch in the Seabridge Market Place, located at Wooley Road and Victoria Avenue, Oxnard CA 93035. 

 

Preperation for the tour/Excursion

Q:  What boat(s) provide the tours?

A:  At this time, we have 1 (one) boat leased for all tours.  The Vessel North Sea is a 32 foot Radon.  The North Sea is a commercial fishing vessel (Commercial Endorsement), Private boat (Private Endorsement), and Commercial Passenger vessel (Coastwise Endorsement).  The North Sea is a documented vessel with the U.S. Coast Guard and adheres to all regulations required.  The North Sea is Re-documented each year.

 

Q:  Is the Vessel North Sea Insured?
A:  Yes, the North Sea carries insurance for all passengers.

 

Q:Is there a licensed Captain on the Boat?

A:  Yes!, absolutely… per USCG Rules, all charter (for hire) passenger vessels need to be manned by a Licensed, current USCG endorsed Captain (Merchant Mariner Credential) 

Additional answer:  Always charter vessels with a licensed Sea Captain with the USCG. The USCG requires that the Captain has proven to be seaworthy and understands safety rules, including first aid response.

 

Q:  Do you have a bathroom on the boat?

A:  No, Unfortunately on the boat itself, we do not.  We strongly encourage passengers to use the restroom prior to departure.  Seabridge Marina provides a restroom for all customers prior to and after the tour(s).  Please see the Captain or a crew member for access.  Please use the restroom prior to departure.

 

Q:  What should I wear?

A:  Generally speaking, this answer depends on what time and what conditions are forecasted for your tour.  Please visit the booking page and look at the forecasted models (Windy.com) for information about conditions that are forecasted for the time of your tour. Daytime tours

All Daytime tours – Sunscreen is suggested for you (the passenger) in all sun conditions, especially in foggy or overcast conditions.  We have Sunscreen available, but it may not be the SPF you require, so please bring your own.  Take your own safety into consideration for sun protection.  Wear light clothing, but be prepared to get wet! 

All Nighttime tours – Channel Island Marine Safari Adventures will provide blankets and warm over coatings, but beanies and gloves or other cold weather clothing is suggested.
